The client was really keen on a large Square Amethyst dress ring. She liked the idea of a modern take on a deco style ring. Amethysts stones are not commercially available in the size she wanted with the emerald style cut she wanted.  I bought a square cut stone and had the corners cut and faceted to her specification.
