The client had a very clear idea of what they wanted. I took measurements and an idea of budget and sourced a selection of diamonds to view. When the diamond was chosen it was very straight forward making up the engagement ring.  When it come time to make the wedding rings they came back to complete the set.

Details:

The clients had just got  back from traveling around South America, were they had spent a lot of time surfing scuba diving and sailing. They wanted a ring to represent their adventures. They loved the idea of a green stone and I suggested tourmaline do to its durability. The shape of the ring echoes a wave rolling into the beach and the diamond represents the sea spray as the wave crashes to shore.

The clients were merging two families with this marriage and the idea was that each different colored bead represented the children from both families joining together in a new way. The base ring was made in wax and then cast into 18ct yellow gold. The coloured gold beads and additional diamond were hand fabricated. The central diamond is a charcoal grey rose cut, which is bezel set.

The clients had a pretty clear idea of what they wanted.  Laken’s engagement ring was made from palladium, and therefor I advised a palladium wedding ring. She knew she wanted a bit more sparkle and we decided on 3 compression set brilliant cut diamonds.  Simon had never worn jewellery before and it was decided a light weight court section would be the most comfortable after he tried on some samples.   He wanted something a bit different and  went for a groove engraved off centre to add distinction.
